[Image: sailing] Longbow is 57 feet (17m) long and was built in 1984 by Bowman Yachts, giving her a pedigree of high quality boatbuilding. For a maximum of seven overnight guests she provides an unrivalled degree of space, light, stowage and privacy. She is a handsome cutter-rigged sloop, offering great stability, and yet is exhilarating to sail. The 120 hp diesel engine provides the backup for those times when alternative power is required.

Her cockpit and bridge deck allow all hands comfortably and safely on deck, whether crewing, just relaxing or eating a meal at the cockpit table. We encourage you to take as much or as little part in the sailing as you like: take the wheel, pull in sails, help with the navigation or simply sit back and enjoy the whole experience.

[Image: Inside of saloon] Going below one is immediately struck by the very spacious saloon with seating for 9 or 10 people in comfort, and the warm glow produced by the beautiful teak joinery. With hot water and warm air heating, you will be well cared-for after a day's sailing. Three bathrooms with showers and easily-operated toilets add to the privacy and comfort aboard.

Longbow also carries a wide selection of books for you to browse through, covering bird and marine life, Scottish history, archaeology and geology as well as tales of adventure on the high seas.

A detailed internal layout is given separately.

Accommodation allows privacy in three separate double berth cabins, each with toilet and shower, plus three more bunks in the saloon. The aft cabin is usually occupied by the skipper but he can vacate this if it is required for a third couple. All bedding is provided. Click on the thumbnail pictures below for larger versions.

[Thumbnail image of cabin 1] The first double berth opens off the main saloon, has plenty of storage space, including hanging space, and an adjacent toilet and shower.

[Thumbnail image of cabin 2] The cabin nearest the bow can be used as a twin or a double. It has an ensuite toilet and shower, hanging space and shelves, and a big hatch (with blind!) to let in the sunshine.

[Thumbnail image of galley] The large galley will frequently be the centre of attention and includes freezer, refrigerator, and four ring cooker with oven and grill. All food is provided and the skipper will act as cook to allow you to relax.

The 5 kW generator can provide hot water as well as 240V AC sockets for mains appliances such as hairdryers. A heating system provides warm air to all cabins (new for 2003). Mobile phone charging points are also available.

Longbow is a pedigree boat ready to spoil you with a comfortable cruise.
